Service entrance

The signs that don’t lie.

An undersized or aging service entrance ends up limiting you — and becomes a risk. Here are the signs.

Urgent

Still on 100 A

Today’s homes ask for more. 200 A is headroom for the charger, the spa, the heat pump.

Damaged mast or service drop

Crooked mast, frayed wiring, rusted enclosure: we redo the service entrance by the book, safely.

Safety

Aging meter or entrance

An entrance from another era? We modernize it and coordinate the reconnection with Hydro-Québec.

Adding a garage or building

A significant new load? We size the service entrance for today and for your projects.

EV charger · spa

Projects on the way

EV charger, spa, extension: your panel has to keep up — dedicated circuits, capacity, protection. Check right below. 👇

New panel included

Redoing the service entrance is almost always the chance to install a new panel — one job site, one crew.

Is your service entrance enough?

Check off what you have at home. We estimate your load per the Code — the way an electrician would — and tell you whether a 200 A service entrance is called for.

Two services, one job site

The service entrance comes with the panel.

Service entrance

The mast, the service connection, the meter and the service capacity (100 A → 200 A+). It’s what determines how much current enters the home.

Frequently asked questions

Good to know before you call.

What’s the difference between the entrance and the panel?+
The service entrance (mast, service connection, meter, service cable) determines how much current enters the home; the panel distributes that current. Going to 200 A affects the entrance.
Does the panel need redoing at the same time?+
Very often, yes — it’s the ideal opportunity to install a new panel. One job site, one crew, one call.
Do you handle Hydro-Québec?+
Yes. We coordinate the process and the reconnection with Hydro-Québec so power comes back without a hitch.
Why go up to 200 A?+
Today’s homes draw more (EV charger, spa, heat pump). 200 A gives the headroom you need, today and for your projects.
How long without power?+
The interruption is planned and generally short (often a few hours). We let you know in advance.
